About Sun Xun
Sun Xun (b.1980) was born in Fuxin, Liaoning Province. He currently lives and works in Beijing. He graduated from the Print-making Department of China Academy of Fine Arts in 2005.
The works of Sun Xun are mainly drawing and short animation. Reality and fantasy, time and history, both are continuously seen in his works. Sun Xun often exhibits his individual cell drawings and other mixed media works, often times alongside his films. Sun Xun's works explore themes of societal development and revolution, referencing such theorists as Marx, Adorno, and Horkheimer.
His works have been exhibited internationally at Saint Louis Art Museum (Missouri), Museum of Contemporary Art (Sydney), Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (New York), National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (Taiwan), Lehmbruck Museum (Duisburg), Hayward Gallery (London), Vancouver Art Gallery (Vancouver), The Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York).
